On September 1st, 1966, the Medical Faculty welcomed 100 young men and women to start their studies. Initially, there were just two departments: one for anatomy and biology. Other subjects like chemistry, physics, foreign languages, and social sciences were taught by various university departments. The university provided a strong foundation for medical studies and also offered facilities for physical education and sports. In 1968, a separate three-story building was assigned for theoretical and biomedical departments.
