The earliest and most traditional form of architecture in Timor-Leste is the totem house. Uma lulik, also referred to as spirit houses, hold the spirits of ancestors belonging to the family who owns them.

East Timor has participated in numerous international sporting competitions. At the 2005 Southeast Asian Games, East Timor secured three medals in Arnis. East Timor scored their inaugural international points in a FIFA match, achieving a 2-2 draw against Cambodia.

Speaking about the Timorese Religions. About 97% of East Timorese are Catholic, with 2% Protestant, 0.3% Muslim, and 0.5% holding other beliefs.
