Do these 8 things when learning a new language for studying MBBS abroad
One thing for sure I have noticed while traveling abroad countries is to know their local language While English can be useful in many places, it's not universally helpful everywhere. Learning a new language is a gradual process that can't be rushed. Consider how this applies to travel, if you're planning to study abroad, understanding the local language becomes even more important. Without it, your experience may be less smooth.
So in this blog, I will provide some tips For non-native English speakers, to excel in their academic journey.
Tips for Non-Native English Speakers:
Tip 1. Crack the language requirements:
When you go to a new country, they expect you to learn their main language for studying. For example, in the Philippines, where English is commonly used in medical education, learning English is essential. Similarly, in Russia, knowing Russian is important. Even if English is the medium of instruction in many colleges, learning the native language can facilitate communication with locals and help in building a supportive network.
So, start by learning about their language needs. This will help make your journey to study MBBS abroad smoother.
Tip 2. Make it a practice:
“Practice makes a man perfect” I am sure you all have come across this proverb, and yes I will agree with this thing.
None of the things we do can be perfect without practice. In my case, I used to be terrified of getting into the water because of my aquaphobia when I started swimming. Just getting into the water was a big task for me. However, with regular practice, I have improved significantly. I am now swimming well, although I am not too sure if I should ask my trainer. Jokes apart, practicing is what helped me overcome my fear and get into swimming.
Likewise, when you are in the process of learning a new language initially you might have more questions yes that’s all normal just trust the process and get into learning the language and practice continuously which will eventually help you to learn the language.
Tip 3. Inculcate as a part of your routine:
Make it a habit to practice regularly. For instance, try speaking in the language every day for communication. This greatly helps in learning new words and correcting any mistakes. By consistently listening and speaking, you'll improve your speaking skills and learn new things. Incorporating this into your daily routine is key.
When you make learning a language a regular part of your routine, you'll become used to it. Then, when you use it in the country, it won't feel unfamiliar.

At first, when I discovered the app Duolingo, I was genuinely surprised. It's a fantastic option for people who can't afford language courses or don't have much time to dedicate to learning. With an app, you can learn whenever you have free time. In my opinion, apps like this are incredibly beneficial for those who want to learn a new language. Isn't it a cool thing?
There are plenty of other apps out there that can help you learn languages on various topics. So, don't hesitate to ask others for advice on choosing the best one. By seeking help from others, you can make sure you're making the right choice and getting the most out of your language-learning journey.

Did you know that reading is the quickest way to learn new words? Once I heard the same from my professor. When you're learning a new language, try reading more books. This will really help you learn new words and improve your language skills. Another good way is listening to podcasts, which are easy to find nowadays. Listening can be even more effective than reading for learning a language.
When you are into reading and listening make sure to make this also a habit. And you will be amazed to see the results.
